ABOUT JUSTIN
Justin found his love of supporting educators (teachers, support staff, professional colleagues, etc.) while teaching elementary special education in Northern Virginia. Helping with his schools' roll out of School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support motivated Justin to return to school to help support the classroom management needs of even more educators. Recently, Justin has experimentally increased teachers' use of effective classroom management procedures and developed a fine-tuned data collection procedure for understanding teachers' use of vocal interactions with students. See the Research Foci and News and Resources pages for more on Justin's work.
While earning his Ph.D., Justin earned his certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. He realized that little empirical work directly connected with the experiences and needs of the professional workforce. Since then, Justin has also been dedicated to supporting the 50,000+ "boots-on-the-ground" professionals delivering behavior analytic services to clients. Justin's recent work in this area has led to the development of an exploratory behavior professional experience model and larger scale data collection efforts to elevate professional voice on a number of issues important to behavior analysis.
Justin currently works as a Research & Evaluation Specialist with the PA Child Welfare Resource Center. This position allows Justin the opportunity to incorporate his behavior analytic mindset and broad research experience to support multiple child welfare initiatives.
As a life-long educator, Justin continues to teach behavior-analytic and special education courses at the University of Pittsburgh, Florida Institute of Technology, and University of West Florida.
